Shimmy, Shake, Repeat

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Wow!  Our V-Day soiree has come and gone and we’re still finding ways to keep ourselves busy.  First of all, big big BIG thank you to all of our fans who came out to see us on Valentine’s Day – in case you missed the show, be sure to check out our YouTube videos.  As always, we couldn’t have put on the show without the amazing help and generosity from people like Chanda Jones of Bombshell Betty’s Salon for some sexy sixties hairdos, Brian from Saturday Mfg for our red hot posters, Maggie of mG Photography for our super sweet photo shoot, Dani Ausen and Nike Dale for crafting flirty feathered hair pieces, and of course our Sexy French Stage Maids!

We’re so excited about all the fun events we have coming up!  We couldn’t be more tickled to announce that we’ve been selected to represent Des Moines at the Windy City Burlesque Festival in April alongside many other burlesque performers from around the nation and world!  Just think, an entire weekend long festival devoted to tassles, teasin’, and pleasin’…we can’t wait!  We will be hosting a fundraiser (or two!) in March to help send us on our way so stay tuned for details!

We’ll also be performing this weekend at The Des Moines Social Club for Subjective Vaudeville- hope to see you there!

In case you missed the Best Events of 2009 Party…

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

On Monday, we were honored to be special guests at the Best Events of 2009 Party with Sophia Ahmad and Jess Knight at The Lift. The night featured visits from all sorts of fancy people, including Leslie Hall, The Nadas, Datebook Diner, Jill Haverkamp, Chris Diebel, Sam Summers, Dale Stark, John Pemble and more!

In case you were too big of a poopy pants to brave the cold weather on Monday night, we’ve prepared some highlights for you:

Click here to see a video of us meeting the original beat dazzler and jam master, Leslie Hall. We can’t wait to perform with Leslie at The BASH this NYE at Des Moines Social Club.

It’s not a party without local naughty boy John Pemble (and his hair)! As you’ll see in this 12 Seconds video, he’ll be getting a lump of coal this year, but we still love him!

Happy Birthday to Des Moines’ premiere burlesque troupe! Today marks the one year anniversary of St. Vitus and the Taxi Dancers burlesque troupe. On Sunday, November 9th, 2008, auditions were held at People’s Court Avenue in Des Moines to select the titillating talents of the sexy gals you now know as St. Vitus and the Taxi Dancers.

We’ve had an AMAZING first year and are very grateful for all of the support the Des Moines arts community has given us. We look forward to another exciting year performing in Des Moines . . . and elsewhere. We have some very exciting performances coming up, so please stay tuned for more details. If you haven’t seen us perform yet, we hope you can make it out to a show soon. Check out some of our past and upcoming shows here.
